Buying the licence - overview & procedure
- RouterOS
- You are finally sure that you need a classic RouterOS licence, then you are ready to go - Otherwise, please note our instructions on the type of licence selection below!
To purchase a licence, click on "Add to shopping cart" and then "Proceed to checkout". - Select "Pick up yourself or by e-mail" as the shipping method.
- In the subsequent window for the method of payment, you then have the option in the "Remarks:" field to enter the software ID of your terminal device required for the licence purchase, on the basis of which your licence will then be created. This licence is then only valid for this device(!). You will find the software ID on the terminal under "System > License".
- After the purchase, the order will be processed during our regular business hours.

- Features: Now it gets exciting, we can either send you the pure licence code by e-mail or transfer it as a pre-paid key to your account at MikroTik (for this, please also tell us your login name (e-mail) for your MikroTik account via comments (can be created here: mikrotik.com/client). This would also give you maximum flexibility and instead of using the Level 4 licence you could also generate a CHR P1 licence (the corresponding licences have the same prices) - without a corresponding comment via the comment function when purchasing, this can no longer be taken into account afterwards!
- You are finally sure that you need a classic RouterOS licence, then you are ready to go - Otherwise, please note our instructions on the type of licence selection below!
RouterOS or CHR license - Tips for license selection (ROS vs. CHR)
- RouterOS... If you want to increase the licence of a RouterBOARD hardware device or run RouterOS via ISO image on a small x86 computer with memory card, you need a RouterOS licence.
- CHR... If you want to use the virtualised RouterOS variant (since you already have such a virtualisation platform available), which supports the x86 64Bit CPU architecture and runs on virtualisation platforms such as VirtualBox, VMWare, Qemu (Proxmox), Hyper-V, XEN, then we recommend purchasing an CHR License - mikrotik-store.eu: Wherever possible and necessary (and we do not use MikroTik hardware) we also only use the virtualised RouterOS variant "CHR" (Cloud Hosted Router | As virtualisation platform we use Proxmox)
Sale of the licences... to private individuals from EU Member States?
- For tax reasons, we can no longer sell this software to private individuals from EU member states without a valid VAT number.
- Private individuals from Germany are excluded from this!
Are RouterOS licences cheaper or more expensive than CHR licences?
Currently, the prices for the RouterOS licences, with the corresponding CHR licence, are the same(!)- RouterOS Level 4 < corresponds to price > CHR P1
- RouterOS Level 5 < corresponds to price > CHR P10
- RouterOS Level 6 < corresponds in price > CHR Unlimited
